How we assess the End-Point Assessment element of your apprentices qualification

Here at Prepare to Achieve, we understand that End-Point Assessment (EPA) is still new to many employers, and that there are still a lot of questions and uncertainties around this part of an apprenticeship standard. Therefore, we have created some free Top Tips resources for employers, to help you understand the two main assessment elements of EPA.

We understand that learning how best to support your apprentices throughout End-Point Assessment can be difficult, so our dedication to simple, fuss-free End-Point Assessment inspired us to develop these Top Tips, to help you to support your apprentice in getting ready for the EPA element of their apprenticeship.

Often it’s the little things that allow apprentices to reach their full potential, from finding a quiet space to complete the assessment, to getting a good nights sleep.

As your EPAO, we want to help support you and your apprentice as much as possible. With that in mind. the free resources below contain some great tips for you to share with your apprentice, to help them feel more confident when it comes to their End-Point Assessment.

Our Top Tips for End-Point Assessment

We use Professional Discussions and a Situational Judgement Test to review whether your apprentice has gained the knowledge, skills and behaviours required of their apprenticeship. This assessment is impartial and carried out only when you, your apprentice and their training provider agree that they are ready to enter ‘Gateway’ and undertake their End-Point Assessment.

Situational Judgement Test

The Situational Judgement Test consists of 60 multiple choice questions with 90 minutes to be completed.

Professional Discussion

The Professional Discussion is an interview covering a maximum of 15 topics chosen from across the apprenticeship standard.
