You're in control

As an employer who has invested in their staff undergoing training via an apprenticeship, it is important that you are also actively involved in the End-Point Assessment (EPA) stage of the apprenticeship. We actively encourage this as we believe that it ensures that you, and your apprentice achieve what you want from this investment.

With this in mind, our team will work closely with you in the lead-up and during the End-Point Assessment element of the apprenticeship and throughout the EPA process to ensure that you understand what EPA is, what it means for your organisation and your staff and how your apprentices are performing.

What do you need to know about End-Point Assessment?

End-Point Assessment forms part of an apprenticeship standard and should be completed by apprentices who are studying an apprenticeship in order to achieve the complete their programme of learning.

It is the final assessment for apprentices and aims to ensure that they have gained the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed by employers and industry to do the job they have been training for.

Some key information relating to EPA

Employer led

Designed by employers for employers

The development of these standards have been carried out by employer led trailblazer groups, with the aim of supporting the government’s agenda of creating 3 million new apprenticeships by 2020.

Impartial assessment

The End-Point Assessment is carried out by an independent organisation and not your training provider. This is to ensure a thorough checking process to ensure the apprentice has gained the knowledge required of the apprenticeship.

Different methods of assessment

Different End-Point Assessment Organisations will assess apprentices in different ways. The trialblazer groups have set-out the various ways that apprentices can be assessed. This will depend on the qualification that they are doing.

No hidden costs

Costs for the EPA are included in the apprenticeship cost, and unlike other EPAOs, we won’t charge for resit fees. However if you are also working with another EPAO who does charge, these fees may end up being paid by the employer.
